Easy PRE + Fairmount

November 10, 2014 (Morning)

Exercise Type: Run

Weather: cold but nice - CRISP (50F)

Comments:
Tired today and a little ill: teeny cold going on. No doubt due to the heavy load of last week.

The plan was to do some fast mile repeats. The pattern is going to be, for the next 6 weeks:

- x5 downhill
- x5 downhill
- 3-4x mile flat
- x5 downhill
- x5 downhill
- 3-4x mile flat

The idea is to work turnover on the downs, then "check" on the flat, then repeat, right down to TNF-EC.

I was going to do those miles today, but I figured I'd mind the exit wound and take it easy. I felt good: energy, stride, etc, but heavy at the end. Good call. Did x6-8 50m strides at the end.

PM: busy day. Had an iRF deadline yesterday, then TWO today: UR, and Men's Journal, who contacted me about some low-carb recipes! They're paying me ***$350*** for like ten recipes! Ha! Among the faves is OOJ's burgers (A BGD favorite!).

Wrapped that at lunch, then went to T&G after work, later in the night, to do the UR column. It didn't look too good for productivity when I got there: the Eugene Hashers were there, and I know like, ten of them. So I chatted with them a bit, then grabbed a beer and got to work.

The column just flowed tonight: the idea of finding limits, yet remaining limitless - the balance between the two. Good stuff. I was able to get it ALL done in under two hours, which was fantastic!

"Callie Alice" was back working at T&G tonight. I didn't talk to her at first because I was busy, but then she came by and we chatted. She asked me about Charlotte. She'd warned me about her being nutty a couple weeks ago, and I confirmed that nuttiness by sharing some of the interactions we've had, and Callie said, "Tread lightly!". :-P

I packed up just before 9:30 to head to another pub to celebrate Cliff's GF Melissa's birthday (remember her? I *almost* went out with her a year ago?). As I was closing out at T&G, Callie admitted that she was "stalking me" online (now that we're FB friends), and she said, "You're kind of a big deal!". LOLZ. We chatted about running, Western States, blowing up, etc...

...it was pretty interesting. I think she's a fantastic young woman: a good mix of passion, positivity, and weirdo. I think she likes me, which is fun, but...you know... ;-)

After that: met Cliff at McMenamin's on High Street, where Melissa was there with about ten other women. We played "Cards for Humanity" til nearly midnight! Fun times...but LATE for a Monday night!
