Skinner Downhill Repeats

November 18, 2014 (Afternoon)

Exercise Type: Run

Weather: 40? pretty cold-ish

Comments:
Pretty good day back at work. Had maybe one opening(?), and only a :90 lunch, but I needed to get downhill repeats in, so I ran straight to Skinner and got after it.

Felt a little off today: still congested, but not sure if it's allergies or stagnant air...or still the lingering cold. Felt a little off all weekend at RWB, so who knows?

Ran home quick for my HRM and to put on my SI joint belt. I just CAN'T seem to keep that R SIJ moving, so I figured I'd try the belt.

The repeats were more subdued, with the goal of less DOMS/strain:

4:24 (157), 5:32 (143)
4:21 (159), 5:35 (145)
4:24 (162), 6:42 (144) (pee break, belt)
4:22 (161), 6:03 (144)
4:22 (165)
Avg: 4:22 (160)

The first few seemed like I should be faster, then I figured out that, when I wear the f-ing belt, it makes me round my back ("old man back"), which really slows me down. So I moved it down, and really focused on opening the low back.

They felt VERY relaxed. Unfortunately they're only slightly faster than they were 3 weeks ago...but good, I guess, considering I was traveling, a little sore from the OCR, and other factors.

Ran straight back to work.
