Spencer hunt from SweatSpace

November 25, 2014 (Morning)

Exercise Type: Run

Weather: pretty damn warm! like high 50s?

Comments:
The ManSpace is still on hiatus - as is Lewis - so we ran from Emily's, which is two-thirds the way up Fox Hollow.

The crew:

OGs: me, Cliff, Dan-o
Emily, MrR, Katniss, Hammer

Ran easy up Fox Hollow to pick up the Ridgeline Trail, then west up to the shoulder of Spencer...but we didn't summit. I thought that was fishy, til we descended the SW side...and started bushwacking straight up to the top, again. Took forever. I hung back behind E-Sweats to make sure she didn't fall off the butte.

Nice weather, but a tad windy. On the way down the first time, we came upon a couple hiking up in the dark. A woman said, "Look, JOGGERS!" when we approached, then asked, "What are YOU guys doing here?" Clearly she's never, ever thought of the concept of running (or yogging) on a trail. We saw them again on the summit. I'm guessing she was even more confused by then, but didn't comment.

Tip-toed easy back down the way we came. MrR didn't bring his headlamp with, so we had some fun with him trying to mooch off our headlamp light.

Overall, felt worn but not too bad. Thankful for an easy, jog-and-hike hunt tonight.

One of my new missions is to become a better community leader - to be more "glue-like", the way that Craig was, when he was here. I'm also trying to make some new inroads in the running community, beyond just my former patients, and our small ultra crew.

As part of that, I'm organizing a Thanksgiving trail run out at Hardesty, and posting it to the various run groups on FB.

Moreover, because she asked - and I'm interested in getting to know her more - I invited Callie to come on Sunday, and got her email address on Monday night so I could forward her the travel deets.

It surprised me - utterly - when she texted me on Tuesday afternoon. Since I never gave her my number, I had zero clue who it was and had to ask, "Who's number is this?"

I did give her my email address a couple months ago about running with the group, but I don't think I put my # on it. But it then occurred to me that she plucked it off the bottom of my email address.

But...it's a little interesting that she would text me...RIIIIGHT? Why not just email back? She was then a little joke-y in her responses, signaling that she was getting a little "texty". Hmmm...

The boundary alarms started going off. I don't think it's *bad* she did that, but I gotta look out for what's best for us BOTH- but mostly for the girl who's got a live-in boyfriend. I didn't text her back, anymore, after that...
