Extended Gateway loop

August 1, 2009 (Morning)

Exercise Type: Run

Weather: mid-60s

Comments:
Woke up at 0600, dicked around, and hit the roads just before 8. I really didn't want to run today, but with singles on Thursday and Friday, I needed to, so I just kept it easy. I tried a different loop -- a version of the ol' "Gateway" loop, which is my only Springfield loop, for a reason -- too much pavement. But change for change's sake today.

The L knee was fine, but I was trouble-shooting my way through this annoying R calf soreness. Ever since I "healed myself" this spring I'm super-sensitive to any asymmetry in my stride. It took til about halfway to realize that -- most likely -- it's due to chopping my R stride as a byproduct of the R ass pain. Chopping = excessive calf loading instead of quad loading. Gotta keep my eye on that...and the back...

Got back, had some food, then got my shit together and went for a bike ride. It's been THREE WEEKS since I'd been on the bike, so even though I ran already, I hopped on. Did the ol' Lorane/Fox Hollow Loop. Kept it "real chill" but still rolled it in 2:14, which is pretty decent. Seems as though I had wind in my face the whole damn time, too.

Did a TON of little errands the rest of the afternoon: washed the car, FINALLY jimmy'd my WI plates off and got (at least one) OR plate on, cooked, baked, cleaned... Tried to take a pico nap but it didn't really happen.

Ate dinner, cleaned up...and meh. I GOTTA start meeting people to hang out with. It just SUCKS to not have anyone to go out with and/or to do crazy outdoor shit...
