South EUG + Baldy + Ridgeline + "End of The Ratch"

December 15, 2014 (Afternoon)

Exercise Type: Run

Weather: mid 40s, foggy + "stagnant"

Comments:
Pretty tired from the weekend, but excited to get back to training.

Ran to Baldy to get some vert. Felt a little tired and sore - namely both feet - from snowshoeing. Thought about multiple Baldy summits, but did only one: 10:21, but no HR. Felt faster (or harder).

4 miles into the run I came across a box of "FREE" kitchenware, including a solid-looking frying pan. So on the way back, I grabbed it...and ran the final four miles with a frying pan in my hand! LOLZ!

Wore the old N1 trail blue's.

PM: had a coaching meeting with Mike. He's disappointed with his CIM (where he ran like 6:40s early, then crashed into the mid-7s at the end). I had to convince him that us running a race-pace 13.1 two weeks before was not the best idea (but this was his old tradition), as well as the fact that we're technically "early season". It's the least patient he's been in this process...but a good wake-up call that if he wants to run a FAST marathon, we have to dedicate the time to prep for it...not a month of quality, three months, post-100K.

Met with Callie Alice again....
