Hike up, run down Cape Perpetua

January 17, 2015 (Night)

Exercise Type: Run

Comments:
AM: woke up and, when Callie Alice went for a long run, I went straight to the coffee shop to work on this running lecture I'm giving at Lane CC next week. We then reconvened around noonish for an overnight trip to the coast!

Got some breakfast at a new (to me) place in the Whit, then hit the road. The weather was a little shitty, but that didn't matter to either of us. Drove to Florence, then north toward Yachats. Stopped at Cape Perpetua for a little hike plus jog. Cape Perpetua is the "highest point on the Oregon Coast", meaning it's a pretty high cliff near the water, maybe climbing 500' in a mile ish or so. We did a nice power-hike, then, with CRAZY-strong winds and light rain, jogged down.

PM: drove a couple miles north to Yachats, checked into the Fireside Motel (actually REALLY nice, and quite affordable), then went to Adobe for "happy hour", then to Luna Sea Fishhouse for amazing fried fish! YUM.

Fun night :-)
