Exercise Type: Run
Comments:
Some lab time in the morning then came back to just chill out. Quiet day, and really sunny out. Wouldnt say that all of the snow is starting to melt, but its getting more pleasant out. Feeling really tired before heading out, but once I finally did it was nice. Looped up around Amherst College and collected up with the Rail Trail. Its got a small section that is packed down enough. If you step off it you sink straight down into the snow though. Had to concentrate to stay on the line and keep going forward. Once I got to the end, I ventured into Brickyard a little bit, but the snow was too deep. I went back around and planned to come back on Mill, but I noticed some footprints going off into the woods, apparently on the Emily Dickinson Trail. I channeled my inner Corey and did some deep woods snow running, but with running shoes, not necessarily show shoes. The trail was packed down much like the Rail Trail so it was manageable. Very very pleasant back there. I enjoyed it a lot. Popped right out at Groff Park, then ran back up home. I was pretty tired once I got out of the snow and back onto the pavement. The sidewalk still had some really slippery sections as well so I took my time.
Essentials: Stretch
Just a quick stretch when I got back. Legs feeling worked and sore from the uneven terrain. Ankle is a little sore too. Had a few moments where I though I was gonna go down, but it stabilized. Clutch.
Guessing on the mileage since I added on a few places. Its hard to map out on the trails though. Solid effort in the snow.
