Sheldon Pool session

February 27, 2015 (Morning)

Exercise Type: Swim

Comments:
"Slept in" a bit with Callie Alice, then hustled to the pool for an early(ish) pool session. 30 minutes of:

- deep water run
- shallow water run

Not much arm swings or bounds. Wore shoes this time to protect my feet.

L achilles was nearly 100& fine: don't remember any symptoms. MUCH better than last week when I was in there.

After that, I hustled home to clean up and drive to bend for the "American College of Sports Medicine" NW chapter conference. Got the idea from my friend and former EPT coworker Pete Shrey, who now lives in Bend.

Was a little tired + allergy'd from the pool, but had a good time at the conference. The first guy was truly garbage - propagating the same drivel, overly-simplistic message of "It's YOUR FAULT" - not enough exercise, eating too much. The kicker: HE was overweight! WTF??

PM: ate alone at Natty Grocer, then went to Pete's work, Recharge, for a special showing + Q&A with Nikki Kimball of her documentary of doing Long's Trail FKT.

COOL FILM. Really well done!

TONS of ultra folk:

- Ken Sinclair and Denise Bourassa
- Stephanie Howe
- Kami Semick
- Mario Mendoza

A handful of non-ultra fast guys (Ryan Bak and his wife), as well.

Interesting: I'm sitting in a chair, watching the early goings of the movie, and decided I'd work on my neck a little bit. It was bothering me in the AM, after I'd gotten it moving last night. I'm pushing on a couple areas high-up on the RIGHT side (C1 and 2), and suddenly, I get a CRAZY jolt of SOMETHING down my ENTIRE LEFT SIDE of my body: face, arm and leg! Like...warm, "falling-asleep" -slash- ache!

WOAH. Shit. The jolt lasted less than a second, then "melted" in about 5 seconds. WTF was that? Interesting: pushing on the right triggered something on the left. Did something stiff, give? Could be, as I'm convinced the side-shears of my neck to the RIGHT are crimping the nerves into my left leg.

Didn't work on my neck anymore that night!

PM PM: shared beers back at Pete's (who had an awesome house and basement, where I stayed). Good chats, and I filled him in on how I'm going back to EPT.
