March 8, 2015 (Afternoon)
Exercise Type: Run
Comments:
Jet lag and time change threw my timing off today. Woke up late and was still kinda tired. Sun came out today though, with a few random snow showers actually... Ran in the afternoon. Sidewalks are mostly melted but now they are a bunch of puddles and ice chunks. So thankful for the Gore Tex in my shoes. I can run right through them. Ran same route as last week. Through town on the way up and bike path the way back. Felt really good on the way out. Great pace and strong form. The snow storms kicked up periodically. It was kinda weird running through the snow in shorts but still feeling comfortable since it was in the 40s.
On the way back had the wind with me. Took it slowed. Legs felt heavy and I my IT was kinda tight. Relaxed though the sun was out and I was just coasting along. The Rail Trail still has a ton of snow pack on it and its starting to become unstable. Harder to traverse so I took my time on it. Also couldnt really pick up the pace on the way home because of the puddles, but I still felt pretty solid.
Essentials: Stretch, roll
Got a scoop of protein and then stretched while the guys were watching NBA. Stretch out felt good havnt been stretching much the past week and sleeping in a hotel and sitting on a plance made me even more tight and sore. Rolling was essential. Hopefully I can fit in a few runs this week, but I got a lot going on with the site visit and recruiting. Game time decisions yo. Also glad the weather is getting nicer. This winter was pretty brutal and I really like the crispness of spring.
Took a little detour through campus so the way up was actually a little shorter than 2.5 but still had a good pace.
