Day Two - Sheldon Pool

March 11, 2015 (Morning)

Exercise Type: Swim

Comments:
BUSY day! Did some errands and work in the AM, then met a "gait client" at 11 at South Track. This guy, Jonas, connected with my online after reading my stuff on iRF. He lives in Malaysia but travels to the US, frequently, so he planned this trip to stop and see me at Tensegrity *today* for a gait analysis to help with a foot injury. So when I got canned, I emailed him, offering to see him one-on-one at the track, instead, and he agreed.

We did some running on a rainy track, then paid to go to In-Shape gym to work on things, then back to the track. It was a good session, and GOOD $$ ($300!). Ha, fuck you, Tensegrity! LOLZ

PM: hour-long pool session, again, at Sheldon. Whodathunkit? The achilles is REALLY responding to rest! Best pool sesh to date, where I did both shallow jogging (quick feet, quick arms) and BIG BOUNDS, where I drive forward as long and strong as possible. Precisely no symptoms, all day!

Looking back, since I severely tweaked the achilles on 2-7 on the Cool training run, the most consecutive days I took off was 3 (only once), the rest were only 1-2 days' rest. I'm now four days in, and it's responding extremely well! I'm going to try to run perhaps on Friday or Saturday, but VERY gradually: like 1-2mi, max, then gradually ramp up. #smart

PM+: work stuff, having to e-mail a TON of patients who are coming out of the woodwork, wanting to know what happened to me. Then yoga, then a phone call for a NEW coaching client! This guy's from Florida, who found me online. We're going to do a gait analysis, then go to work on a formal coaching plan.

Not sure how I'm going to proceed with trying to cover all my expenses - the 2.5 weeks that I was uncompensated. But I'm already getting close. The two folks I've seen this week, alone, have covered ~2.5 days. Then, the addition of this guy has covered another 4 days. I figure I've got another 7 days worth of work to account for and I'm officially "even" - with NO "full time" work for it! :-D

PM-plus: went with CA to Max's to listen to Lonesome Randall. Had some fun trying to think of things I could do with this "gift"!
