April 5, 2015 (Morning)
Exercise Type: Run
Weather: 40F, on-off sun and light wind
Comments:
Slept til 720ish. TIRED. But I needed to get the run done. After some stretching and drills, I was out the door by 745.
Ran from mom's, north to the Whitetail trail complex. Much warmer than Friday, which was nice.
Running is...HARD after doing it all fucking wrong for months! God damn it! My shoulders were WORKED: so much so that it actually precluded going longer than the 1h40m I did today. Kept it easy on the trails, but still has some HR elevation. AHR 140 for the run.
Major focus:
- whole foot
- arm swing without SWIVZ.
The latter was just WORKING my shoulders, because the inverse - swivs - the shoulders DO NOTHING: they just stay fixed on a twisty trunk! GRRR.
It was a beautiful day on pretty good trail. The trails were "closed": presumably to let them dry out. They were 95% dry (a little sticky mud) and seemingly leaf-blown recently.
Overall felt...ugh. Again, it's just TOUGH to have to re-fucking-learn. This happened in '13, and again in the spring-early summer of '14. Each time it took a good 4-8 weeks for running to go from a struggle to "clicking". Hope it clicks this time around.
PM: drove with mom to her cousin's in MPLS for Easter. Saw a bunch more family, including bro Steve and his new GF, who's great. Fun times.
Spent a bit of time with Jimmy at MSP. He's now a bonafide Delta pilot (in training, still), which is awesome.
Back in EUG by 9:30. :-)
Ran in the Mizunos again, but with the superfeet inserts.
