PRE to Springfield + "down the middle"

April 17, 2015 (Morning)

Exercise Type: Run

Weather: nice, pollen-y

Comments:
Worked for about two hours this morning, then got home and went for a run. Since I had some extra time, I rolled a couple extra miles. Fairly certain it was a nice day, so the HR spiked due to pollen.

Felt sluggish enough that I didn't want to go farther, so I ran "down the middle" of the loop, where there's some singletrack that's nice to run, if it's not muddy.

More form focus on "Elite Feet" and quick turover. Felt pretty good.

PM: went to yoga at 4 with CA, then we got home, pounded some salad, and went to watch Oregon Relays!

What a fun meet! For starters, I tried and successfully BS'd my way into the meet with my UO student ID...from 2001! Then we got to watch a great mix of elite HS races and mediocre to top level NCAA and post-collegiates race. Damn, is it useful to watch REALLY good runners race! Picked up some great nugs, especially on arms swing!

The elite guys - four UO guys went under 14:00 for 5k - might get their hands behind their hips, but there's not a ton of actual arm (e.g. shoulder) swing. Instead it's ALL scaps and just a touch of trunk! Good stuff!

Charlotte and her friend joined us, then Tommy later hung out. Post-meet: CA and I hung out at The Cannery, my new favorite food and beer spot, at the old Bier Stein. Biked to UO and back for the quintessential Eugene experience.
