Ran from Tamarack, wearing the mask on the warm-up. Was a little apprehensive about the Achilles+ankle, since I'd "felt it" the past few days, but went for the work, anyway.
Had a bit of a triple-whammy today:
- pool allergies, having just finished working with a patient
- regular allergies: no mask on the tempo
- they're re-mulching amazon! Crap! When I started I had to run around a truck driving on the path, and there was another one, from which they were shoveling 3-4" of fresh mulch on the path. In total, about 500m of the path was soft as hell.
Had HR discipline again today, with good form focus:
- Tall, strong+compact arms (using the E3s)
- Strong hip drive
- Forward (sometimes, but not always)
- "Elite feet"
It went...OK. I felt slow. The loop was slow, and the allergies and high HR made it slow. And, it WAS slow: 19:34 for 3 miles = 6:35 pace? Ugh. Oh well. Felt good, otherwise. Mask was back on for the cooldown, and didn't have much symptoms the rest of the day.
