"Slept in" til 8 with CA. Not too cold overnight in tent, so sleeping was pretty good. I might've over-inflated the air mattress, but otherwise it was solid.
We packed up in <45 minutes. CA is a trooper. SO dependable! We then drove to Shelter Cove (where BGD and I bathed during his '12 "camp") for espresso, then met OD and Bill at Gold Lake + Waldo Lake junction to do trail work.
In summary: SEVEN hours of work, and 12 miles of carrying the chain saw! The first hour was spent on only a few trails past Gold Lake AS, when OD got the chainsaw blade pinched in a log bind. Then we drove up to the PCT TH and sawed+swamped all the way to Maiden Peak Trail, then down to Gold Lake.
It was fun, but a tough day! CA did great: zero complaints and really enjoyed it, which was cool. But damn, it was a long day!
Good opportunity to practice good walk+hike mechanics: whole foot, pushing through, using the hips. I was a little worried about my achilles, but it was no problem all day.
