EASY "normal" "long" run with Matt

May 2, 2015 (Morning)

Exercise Type: Run

Weather: 50s, but perfect morning!

Comments:
Kicked it old-school by meeting Matt at his (and my old) house in Springfield. Met early, at 7:30, and ran from his place to Dorris Ranch. It's a historic, working hazelnut tree farm with some paths, so once we got there, we did three laps around the orchards, then ran back. Had some good chats about coaching (he got a new job at P.Hill HS and will be their head basketball coach!) and running. Fun stuff.

My watch stopped and I couldn't restart it, so I don't have deets, but it was FOR SURE under 130 average. And maybe 8:15-30 pace.

The rest of the day:

- Breakfast with CA
- Helped Dano move into his new bachelor pad
- Ran some errands
- Watched the Kentucky Derby
- Packed up to go camping with CA!

We decided we should try an overnight camp out at Charelton Lake, as we're going to help OD do some trail work Sunday. Packing up was a PAIN. SO MUCH STUFF! Between me and CA my truck cab was jammed full! And it took forever so we didn't leave 'til 5:30. I was grumpy about that but CA did a good job of helping me (e.g. making me) snap out of it.

All of it was snapped out when we got to Charelton: no bugs, (almost) no snow, no people, but total awesomeness! We camped right by the AS, on the tip of the shore. We set up camp, got a bunch of wood (CA excelled at finding the perfect kindling!), then drank beers and watch the sun go down on Maiden Peak, then ate some foil dinner and the best smores, ever.

Again, no bugs, and we had the whole lake to ourselves. FANTASTIC. We need to do that way more!!!
