Hardesty Wednesday

May 20, 2015 (Morning)

Exercise Type: Run

Weather: 60, rain

Comments:
Got a late-ish start to the first HW of the year. CA picked me up from Oakway to save some time, and we drove out, into some mist that turned into drizzle.

The focus of these is "pretty damn easy", and it DID feel easy. CA's still easing into things, so it was a good fit.

She's really been struggling with A.) aches and pains, and B.) form stuff. It's a little frustrating, to say the least. I just want her to be healthy! But when we got to the start of the third mile (about 26min in), and she said she was having "quad" pain, we stopped, and worked on knee alignment again. Turns out, she's basically been running knock-kneed (literally) "ALL THE TIME"! UGH. So I showed her the Nick Symmonds -slash- Tony K alignment and we kept going one additional mile before turning back.

It was HELLA muddy, as there was a torrential rain up there the past couple days, so the early turn was good, to avoid epic mud in the dark.

I felt...GREAT. My glutes were firing like mad, and I felt next to nothing else the whole run!

HR: avg <140 for the first mile, then <150 for the rest of the climb!!

PM: got home, ate dinner, then chatted. CA was grumpy about last night, and she mentioned something I'd said, in reference to a previous relationship, where I'd said, "I don't want to make that mistake again". She interpreted that to mean, "I don't want to invest like that". And that really scared her.

Long talk about how, once again, she feels like she's beared all and I haven't. Part of that may be true, but I also feel like she's still trying to figure out if SHE can trust me 100%.
