Charleton to 4290 toward Twins and back to CL - trail work

May 31, 2015 (Morning)

Exercise Type: Walk

Comments:
Slept in til 8, then ate a nice breakfast with CA, then packed up and was ready to work just about 10:30 AM. We had a four-some today, including OD and his wife, Julie!

In my head, I thought for sure we could clear this ten-mile Charlton Lake loop (along the course from CL, to 4290 AS, then back toward Twins AS, but veering back to CL) in five hours. 2 miles per hour is pretty solid but doable to clear trail, especially flat trail with no problem trees.

But that was not the case.

It took over 7. Ugh. LONG day. I was tired from the past couple days, and really allergy'd out. I wore a mask all day, which helped, but the going was slow and the work, hard. But our crew did a great job. It took nearly 4.5 hours to clear the five miles to 4290 AS, but sped up nice after that.

Finally got done back at Charlton Lake at 5:45 or so, and CA and I piled in the truck and headed downhill.

I was tired and a little grumpy, but felt better after some pulled pork nachos at Killer Smoke in P-Hill, then better yet after getting home and cleaning up. Had a LATE dinner (again) and were to bed late. Annoying.

Good weekend, but 6lb of shit into a 5lb bag.
