Eugene Marathon - biking

May 10, 2015 (Morning)

Exercise Type: Bike

Comments:
Eugene Marathon Day!

Bike to the start - no helmet and in street clothes, but I felt constricted and dangerous, so once Dan-O and I met up and saw the opening miles, I biked home for more appropriate gear, including helmelt

I bet I got in 20+ miles riding over 3 hours, including several long segments into Springfield. Pretty easy, which was good since I was pretty sore, yet, from Thursday-Friday.

Watched Mike all day. He was SOLID, but...sluggish. Ran 3:02:28, which ties a PR but off his sub-3 goal. I think he needs more prolonged race-pace runs. The problem with MAF training is you lose the muscle strength adaptation from grinding every day. So...you wind up being aerobically fit, but the muscles aren't used to that pace for so long.

It was fun to watch the half guys: Deigo Mercado and another "Lemonhead" guy or something came up and dom'd the half, running 65ish! Ian Torrence was up with Emily Harrison, who ran 2:45. Dear LORD do her arms suck! WOW.

PM: grabbed a recap beer(s) with Mike, then grocery shopped and cleaned. Fun day
