Hammer's Constitutional-Lite

Seven of us tonight: me, Lewis, Dan-o; Hammer, Emily, MrR, Callie. Ran down to Amazon, then up Headwaters, then lower Dilard Ridgeline to Baldy Cut-off, then hiked up Baldy and down to Spring

Wore the old red Rogue Flys. They. Suck. I wore 'em in case we did mud, as they have some tread, but they have zero cushioning AND their sole sucks! SO...they're brutal.

I felt fatigued, like, all day. I fell way back on the ups, which was fine, because it kept my HR in the 13xs. It also enabled me to be very form-focused, especially with Elite Feet on the hills.

A big part of Elite Feet is limting knee and ankle bending! When that is accomplished, ALL the power gets shifted in the glutes. It's hard, but that's what's supposed to happen. That, by the way, is the power behind the Pawback - it pulls the *nearly-straight* leg beneath. But this can be accomplished with way less pulling-effort, just by maintaining "Elite Feet", which is what I was doing.

The descent off Baldy sucked, since my feet hurt. Then, from there, I jogged easy, falling behind with Callie Alice a bit. Nice to have her back after 5 days gone!

Beers, chips, chees curds, and a bear-shaped sourdough - one day before Lewis' 42nd birthday!
