2x Baldy with CA

May 13, 2015 (Afternoon)

Exercise Type: Run

Comments:
Rather than do Hardesty, CA and I decided to do a couple Baldy repeats. She hadn't done any big climbs in a while, so this would be a good test.

Biked easy in sunny-but-stormy-looking conditions to Tugman, locked the bikes, then jogged easy to Baldy.

Before we started, I worked with CA on the "Elite Feet" concept and how **limited knee flexion** is the key to keeping the glutes active (besides innner foot and knees out). We practiced that idea - of "running tall" - on the light, paved uphill before trying it out on Baldy.

Two reps, moderate effort both up and down:

11:20 (150), 9:51 (120)
10:56 (158), 8:57 (116)

Felt GOOD! The terrain is getting worse: the "holding dirt" of the gravel has washed away, leaving only the moderate-to-big rock gravel, making it tough to run at times. But the effort was very conservative, and it felt good! Used the e3 grips, per usual.

CA felt good, best of all, and had minimal symptoms.

Ran back to the bikes just as it was starting to rain...then got rained on pretty hard on the way home!
