10x 300s in the AM with CA

Slept...OK. CA stayed over and was bed-hogging. Plus my new mattress is FIRM and I'll need a pillow top to make it more comfortable. The AC was nice, though - had to turn it off in the middle of the night.

Because we're leaving for Tahoe tonight, we had to do our track session this AM. It was a little rough getting out of bed, but the GPS watches were whirring at 6:05. BEAUTIFUL morning, with an easy jog over to South HS.

Good news is, I've got much less "hamstring" soreness without Swivving, but it's going to be a challenge today, with repeat 300s!

The idea was 10x300 today. It's always a good "date pace" 1500m workout. And to prevent either CA or me from fretting or getting down about splits, we timed without looking, and we both ran separately.

Damn, it was so nice out: just pure sun and clear, minimal shit in the air, and perfect conditions - zero wind, and not too hot.

Felt pretty good. All workout, it was a focus on the following:

- NO SWIVZ (low back arch)
- staying forward (CA warned me that I was "too upright")
- whole + flat foot (inside ball)
- big hips

Didn't see the splits at all, but they felt "mediocre plus". The actual splits (no HR data - it was off) and rest splits:

That sounds about right: fast-ish, but not really fast. Average: 56.5 --> 75.3 per lap = above 5-minute pace for a "mile date pace"! Yeesh. Would love to repeat this workout in July and have it be 3 sec/rep faster.

Nice, easy cooldown, then quick breakfast, then a full day of work. Stopped at lunch to pack, then got out a bit early from work so we were on the road by 5:15. Stopped at a barley field outside K Falls for a "work activity" for CA, then drove to just outside Susanville to camp in the truck outside Eagle Lake! It was pretty cool!
