Comments:
Today was the hottest day of summer so far. I ended up running later in the afternoon, almost evening time. One to avoid the heat and two since my eating schedule got a little shifted since I went to brunch. Heading out, just felt like doing a little something different, like a workout. Warmed up a little longer around the track then got right into it. Did a ladder 4,8,16,8,4 all shooting for 6:00 pace. Something a little quicker than usual. Actually felt pretty good. Not that smooth, but strong overall. Held the pace well. I took 100 sec rest inbetween each interval. It was nice on the track not a lot of people and I really got to just work on the pace. Splits were:
88, 2:55, 5:52, 2:56, 84
Pretty good pace. Honestly kinda impressed by the sub 6 mile at this point. As I was finishing up the last 400, I could definitely feel the stomach tightening up, maybe from dehydration and not eating much. It hurt and I ran home really slow and spent some time combating that. Kinda a mood killer but glad I got some fast work in, what I could.
Essentials: Stretch
Really brief stretch, not enough. I tried to drink and eat as much as I could right when I got home to beat the cramp, and to get to dinner. Ill probably feel really sore from that, but I didnt want to have that cramp all night.
