May 30, 2015 (Morning)
Exercise Type: Run
Weather: overcast - MEGA-pollen!
Comments:
The idea today was to run an easy Waldo loop, then do some light trail work in the PM with OD and Co. Dan-o camped overnight, and we met E-Sweats on the trail.
I was feeling off right away, just tired and "disturbed". Turns out, the conifer pollen was BRUTAL up there and it got worse and worse for both CA and I as we went. I hung back going EASY - at her new MAF of 145 - at first feeling pretty OK, but by 75% of the way, I felt the WORST I've felt since a hundred miler, honest to god. Wound up shuffling + walking a big chunk of the rest of it.
Whole loop took an outrageous 3:50 (I've done this loop in as little as 2:40 before). YIKES.
Spent the rest of the day just trying to recover: allergy meds, wearing a mask. Didn't do any real trail work but practiced on the cross-cut saw with CA around camp. Then, with OD's supervision, used the chainsaw for the first time! Fun!
