Because I overslept and could not afford to get lost, as on a long run, I paid closer attention to route today and produced a loop! Even so, it was not long enough and I had to circle the area by the hotel a few times to reach 65. During the second half of the run, I didn't feel peppy for obvious reasons--my down week, I've determined was nothing more than an up week in disguise. Could I have done a shorter run? Yes. But in the past weeks I've preferred to get some of the mileage out of the way early on. I have a workout scheduled for tomorrow so that should help. Travel and running, however, rarely mix well: stretches have been cut to 45 seconds, strength work has been occasional and I don't think I'm adjusted yet to central European time. Despite a resoundingly successful long run, the past couple days have found me ravenously hungry, somewhat sleep deprived and wishing for company in a family that doesn't know the first thing about distance running.
