August 16, 2015 (Morning)
Exercise Type: Run
Comments:
Got a lot of sleep last night and that ate up most of the day. It was still hot and humid out. Got to running around 5pm. Its been a while, legs felt stiff but I got into it pretty quickly. Felt good on the way out, up through town then around the pond and back through campus and Lincoln. Its felt like I havnt been there in a while and it was nice to be back on campus. Still pretty quiet. Maybe the mayhem in California seems so extreme since I compare it to the quietness of Amherst. On the way back, started to feel a lot more sluggish, struggled to stay up strong. Humidity, the head cold and low mileage all caught up but I stayed in there and made it back. Felt much better when I finished up.
Essentials: Stretch, stick roller
Stretch outside cut short but a bee that attacked me. Made it in but it took a while to cool down and for my legs to loosen up. Still feel tight. Probably going to take a while to get back into the running groove. Gym opens up too soon. Talked alittle bit about the Hartford Half and the Revolution Run, which are in October. Definitely think I can be in some decent running shape for either or both of those by then. Or more importantly... Alumni Race?
