Comments:
EB running club canceled their speed workout, so I decided to do my usual 4.1 mile loop, but with some speed built in.
Ran a quick (8-minute) mile, then stopped to stretch. Then ran intervals. Started with one-minute sprint, one-minute walk. That very quickly turned into one-minute sprint, two-minute walk.
At first, my sprint segments started out very fast and quickly turned very slow. As the miles progressed, my top speed decreased and slow speed increased. By the end, I felt very good.
It's now two days later, however, and my feet/ankles still hurt. Not a big fan of that.
