CMXI

August 19, 2015 (Afternoon)

Exercise Type: Run

Weather: Nice--apparently quite rare for Denmark

Comments:
A tragedy and a blessing came simultaneously today. My watch, the humblest timex a wrist ever sported, bequeathed to me by Zeke at the end of freshman year, died. The display just went blank and that was it. On the other hand, in addition to my 4x10-minute cruise, I felt the most confident I have on a run all summer. I left the hotel at 5:05 and pursued a flat CCT-like road called the Ostervolgade. With the help of some friendly Danes, I figured out the timing, resulting in approximately 55 minutes of hard, fast running. In the watch's absence, I truly had no distractions. From beginning to end, every stride, every motion, every thought was applied to making myself maintain the pace. The mental chatter of the day went, "Oh so you're tired? You're going to have to deal with it." In a courtyard in front of the fire department I did drills and eight, long striders with jogging in between.

Pushup progression with four of everything too!
