Cummins Ridge + road + Cummins Creek mini-tempo with CA

Beautiful morning. Got up way earlier than last time to repeat our 20ish mile long run. For CA, it was a nice comparison in HER fitness to mid-June, when we first ran this. The grind uphill was a good 1+min per mile faster, which was nice. I wish I could say my HR was way lower, too, but it was a touch higher - around 110.

Ran her MAF pace for nearly the whole time on the counterclockwise loop til Cummins Creek TH (east end), when we did a 3-mile tempo on the mostly downhill trail. Some rollers, but mostly downs - which was good practice for MRT. I took off ahead of her, feeling pretty good and REALLY pushing the short grunt ups.

The last K is flat almost double-track, and I got down to about 5min pace, then stopped at the creek, where we'd agreed to meet. A few minutes later, she came along...distraught. She'd been stung by another fucking bee, this time in the back of the head! She's moderately allergic, but thankfully she didn't have a reaction.

We went moderate-fast to 101, then "tempo'd" along the treacherous shoulder for a K to the Cummins Ridge road, where we hiked + shuffled it at her MAF back to the truck.

Did the run about 20mins faster than in June, which was cool. My AHR was 120, even with the tempo.

PM: immediately drove down, made tailgate breakfast, then drove into town to get coffee, then we headed home.

Air back in Eugene was TERRIBLE! Hazy as fuck and legitimately smoke-smelling!!
