Exercise Type: Run
Weather: Perfect
Comments:
I met Mark at GDS for my final long run before leaving. He had planned a stellar route: it involved going down Glover to Reservoir, taking that to Dunbarton Oaks, running along R street, dropping into Rock Creek via the Dunbarton Oaks Gardens, running for a long time on the Valley Trail/Beach Drive, before popping out at Candy Cane, finishing on Western, 41st (awesome porch, Anthony), Fessenden and Wisconsin. The pace started out nice and easy as a long run should, but then around 1:13, and perhaps a little before we started to move much faster. I knew I was tired during the final 4-5 miles, but was able to hold my form together in a way I haven't been able to do on earlier long runs. Another success. I forced Mark--and myself-- to do the crunch-pushup progression, 35 second intervals, 3x25 pushups.
