Campus to Campus

September 27, 2015 (Afternoon)

Exercise Type: Run

Comments:
Solid long run. Chillin all day just relaxing after a long week. I was pretty lazy right before heading out. It was cold in our house and I just wanted to sit and watch football. Josh joined me for the first part. We headed up to campus on the bike path, did a big loop around by Conte, then came back all the way through town. Nice having some company on the first section. Held a nice pace he likes to go quick. Honestly, legs felt super heavy in the beginning and loosened up a little. It was really nice out, in the sun it was actually pretty hot and chilly in the shade. Lots of people out biking and running too. We came back down past Amherst College and then I dropped him off and continued down the road towards Hampshire College. Really this could have been " Campus to Campus to Campus" Hit up 3 of the 5. Got a downhill there but my legs were starting to feel really heavy. Just felt like plotting along, fitting on those miles. Made it to the entrance of Hampshire, ran up and did a loop around the quad. Classic day at Hampshire, kids out reading books, writing poetry, balancing on those hippy tightrope things, and even and frolicking around in a weird dance circle (I am not even joking...) Just looped around their "Science" Building (straight outta Oberlin's book) and came back up the road. Felt much more uphill, and I was starting to cramp up a little. I think it was from not being hydrated enough. Still, my legs kept rolling they were just in that motion. I think I slowed down up the hill home, but my legs felt like they were being worked and that felt good. That also meant they were pretty tired and heavy. Cardiowise not that tired when I got back honestly, but musclewise legs were ready to take a break.

Essentials: Stretch, stick roll

Stretch and stick roller necessary today. Pretty pleased think I just hit about 13. Did stop at a bunch of lights though. My goal is to run around 90 minutes for the race, so today showed me that I am indeed right in that range. Just need to pace myself correctly and run smart. Thats my real gameplan. Good that I did get in that mileage before the race at least. IDK if your supposed to go real long one week out. Ill definitely need to taper a little bit the week before. Will I get a Case jersey in time for the race? Or do I need to kick it real old school and bust out the old IHS jersey? That would be legit.
