"Three Corners" + golf course

December 24, 2015 (Morning)

Exercise Type: Run

Comments:
Busy day. Up not too early, then milled around a bit. Steve and I made plans to chat - in person - today, and it took a while to iron out where. Finally we decided at 10:30ish, at Caribou Coffee that's inside the grocery store downtown.

That chat was...good, and fine. I subdivided the talk into 3 parts:

- what happened on Monday night: how disrespectful and shitty he and Will were in getting wasted and being loud as "guests" in mom's house.
- whatever his beef is with me: we talked about whatever underlying issue with me he had, that clearly boiled over that night. But it really turned into more of HIS stuff going on, that I provoked (stuff re: my mom, the lack of recognition he gets from her dad)
- what he needs to do to "figure his shit out". Clearly this is like anger-management shit that can't happen again.

It was a good long talk. I felt OK about it, but just not happy it happened. It was a stupid situation. But I'm glad that we, as a family, put it behind us.

After that, he and I had to hustle home for Christmas! We did it early to accommodate my bro-in-law's work, and the fact that we were having Max and James' parents over, so we figured we'd open gifts.

Did a nice gift opening, then, around 3, I went for a run.

I was worried about this run, since I'd felt pretty crappy from the food poisoning, but I was relieved that I actually felt GOOD. But the new snow added on top of the ice was NOT good!

Back in the day, in the winter time I'd run the "Four Corners" loop in River Falls. RF is a small town, so to get in a decent run, I'd run from my place (just south of town center), and run out west, then back in...then north, and back in...then east, and back in...then south and back. This was the four corners.

Today, I ran "Three Corners": N-E-S, but not west. On the east end is the River Falls Golf Course, which can be cut across to another dead-end street that takes me south.

But rather than cut through...I just ran ALONG! The snow was that perfect runnable: a couple inches directly on top of firm grass. So I decided to "run the front nine": tee to green along the course that I golfed a ton as a kid! Had a blast and it was quite peaceful.

From there, I exited and ran south to the new High School, then through UWRF campus, and home.

GOOD RUN!

PM: no second run. Had Christmas Eve dinner with the family and Max and Mike+Janell, then hung out!

Merry Christmas!

Foot was a little more sore than the past couple days. Did a lot of massaging and stretching...
