Exercise Type: Run
Weather: mid 20's, clear, slight breeze
Comments:
It was a chilly night, so the night joggers were nestled warm at home.
The runner was the only figure on the track as the last of the sunlight faded from the horizon. His were the only feet treading the unending path. There were no fitness resolutioners, no older men grinding out ninety-second quarters.
The young man had no secret fantasies in mind as he slowly (so slowly, it seemed) put the intervals dictated by the sheet into reality. As the wind chilled him during recoveries, he took a moment to appreciate the nature of the solo interval workout. There's no one to impress when you run by yourself, no one mandates an honest effort. But at the same time, there is no reason to bring yourself to do a workout if you don't stand to work hard enough to gain.
