February 16, 2016 (Night)
Exercise Type: Other
Comments:
I was a little spooked by the foot, and I nearly didn't go. But after work got out early, I hit the rink. Got there early (no one at the counter = free skate!), but the Zamboni was slow, so didn't get on 'til late.
Gosh, I LOVE SKATING! It was busy tonight, so I couldn't go clockwise the whole time, but I did plenty of inner circles working on going right
HERE is why it's:
A.) easier to go left
B.) harder to go right
My RIGHT skate buckles in. It's angled in (blade out) slightly more because of a weak hip (and valgus knee). So when I go left, that benefits from the ankle (as I'm "used" to being left-angled), but when I try to go right on it, it's not neutral!
So tonight, it was all about trying to keep right knee OUT and skate blade "up and down" neutral right, and that helped everything. That's the SAME cue, ultimately, for running with that knee!
Skated for about :35, listening to my own music at the end (FLEW around listening to "Birthday", lols), then hit the Hunt social.
Pretty good day. Foot was minimally sore in the PM, so I don't think I over-did it
