Oakmont "long" with Jake

Weather: nearly 70? HOT

Comments:
The foot was a little sore in the AM, which worried me, but by lunch, it felt 100%, and it was really nice out, so I went for it.

Jake ran easy with me, several laps at Oakmont. Tried not to talk work, so we chatted about WI running, then ultras and training.

Stride felt GOOD. We were grinding a bit, but when I run "correctly", it doesn't seem difficult. As the point-miles ticked off and I was feeling 100%, I decided it was time to increase the mileage, so we went to a full 3+ miles before running back to work.

He added on, but I stopped at 3.6. Felt GREAT!

PM: VERY little soreness! Did the new routine:

- run at noon
- stretch and ice right after
- shower and "rest" (study) for an hour before work resumes

This REALLY helps "chill out" the foot, so I don't overuse it during the afternoon.

Good afternoon at work, LITTLE soreness.

PM: dinner, then Lonesome Randall at Max's. He chatted almost his entire set break with us, which was cool. Like that guy! :-)

...really feels like I'm "breaking the injury orbit", finally!
