Soggy run...but allergic

February 26, 2016 (Afternoon)

Exercise Type: Run

Weather: 50s, post-rain

Comments:
Good day today: studied in the AM, wrapping up the foot section, then a short bout of work (3hr), then a pool session to wrap up the day.

Didn't take an allergy pill, but should have. The rain might've wiped out a chunk of the pollen, but I was in the pool A LOT in the past two days, and I felt it on the run.

The foot felt fine in the AM, so after the pool and a grocery store stop, I headed home to run, with the idea of also ice skating, like last week.

The run was...OK. But I had a triple whammy. Besides allergies, I forgot tape and shoes at work. I ran in the OLD (2014) PI N2 roads, with green superfeet inserts, and no tape. Foot felt OK, I guess...but was more sore than I'd like in the PM.

Run was bleh. REALLY high HR, for various reasons. Easy (but not) out and back-ish on the Willamette Path.

My glutes were SUPER sore ("Butt Lock"!), like borderline painful, so I declinded to ice skate afterward.

Instead, I studied: did well on my foot and ankle quiz, and got to work on the new Lumbar spine study materials.

PM: went with CA to Ninkasi for a release event for "Beer Run" a 7.3% (!) beer supposedly for runner. They did a short run from the brewery with Andrew Wheating, so when we got there (for "social"), there were TONS of runners, including many of the TRE (JV OTC) group there. I was grumpy at first, but then had fun chatting with everyone.

Pretty good day...just ready for this foot to be better...
