March 8, 2016 (Night)
Exercise Type: Run
Weather: high 40s, damp and chilly
Comments:
E-Sweats led this hunt. Since Ninkasi is promoting this new "Beer Run" beer, she's been in charge of hosting these promotions around town at various bars. Tonight was one, at Tap & Growler, so we shifted the hunt location to take part.
Did nothing today during the day except study: a 3hr block during the day. Then got home, changed and ran about a kilo before meeting up at T&G.
Hunters:
- Me, Lewis, Tommy
- CA, Hammer, Matt
Ran with Emily leading, with some other stragglers from the T&G group (numbering about 40 strong, doing various routes). Started reasonably easy, but once Lewis and Hammer joined Emily up front, it was a legit grind fest: mid 7s pace on the soggy bark.
I felt pretty good, without too high of a HR, but it was low 140s. Ran the big PRE loop then came back in the twilight.
CA and I changed at the apt, then went back to T&G for beers and snacks.
FORGOT my shoes at work, so at first I ran in the Hokas, but even without orthotics, my toes still feel pinched! So I changed into my newer N1 roads, which felt great...but were ultimately TOO soft. My plantar got a little overly-stressed over the 6.5 miles.
Focus:
- right foot in
- The "Fast Triad": forward, back arch, pawback
- pelvis left
- right scap forward, left scap back (with R pushoff)
Felt OK, but definitely the foot was a little worked.
No PM study...
