Exercise Type: Walk
Weather: 40, "warm"
Comments:
Slept remarkably well. Was quite warm and comfy on the air mattress...until I PAAAAHPED it getting back into bed at 0800 after getting up to pee! REALLY lucky it didn't PAAAHP before then!
I was worried about Max and his sleep. He's been SOO stressed out, it's damn near killing him how bad it is. Back in the fall, he'd have nightmares at our place. Last night, several times he was absolutely THRASHING around, yet not making any noises. Then he'd go back to snoring... But upon waking, he was fine.
Had a fucking AWESOME morning: stoked up the fire, made tea, then coffees. CA warmed up these egg muffins she half-baked at home and brought along. Ate those, then snacked on these great cookies (also heated over the wood stove) with coffee!
Just sat there around the wood stove, chatting about stuff. It wasn't very cold - but was cloudy and overcast with light sleet snow. I went out to split wood a couple times, which was a blast.
But we just CHILLED out, the three of us, 'til nearly noon! About when we were packing up, a couple showed up on skis! It was a pair from Eugene (John and Lissa Manotti) who happened to know Thornley among many other mutuals. Nice folks...AND they live on our "dream street" in Eugene. So we exchanged info before they skied off, and we hiked down.
The hike down was 10x easier than up. The snow was slushier, but that made it easier - as did the mostly downhill. Still took 2.25 hrs, though, with some fair uphill trudging up Gold Lake Rd.
GOOD OUTING. Damn, I was cranky about it, but it's those experiences that "toughen you up" for other things!
Drove down the hill, got back into town and cleaned up. Then we went to T&G for drinks, where Max got us into a random crossword puzzle (that we almost finished) with Tommy, who stopped by.
Ate a mediocre burger at Killer Burger, then came home. Good day!
