Fleet Feet fun run

August 1, 2016 (Night)

Exercise Type: Run

Weather: Warm, nice, not too hot

Comments:
I felt good on this run. No pain. Except I did feel a discomfort in my chest/my heart during and post run. It went away after a while.
I had three cups of coffee today at the Grind, so I wonder if the caffeine affected me in a weird way.

The PT Alexa from Athletico was there and she showed me a few exercises for glute/butt strengthening. She said that we do not want to work the hip flexors. Instead we work the glutes. She showed me the hip / leg raises against the wall which involves keeping the lower buttcheek and shoulder against the wall, bending the lower leg, and raising the upper leg straight while keeping the heel of the upper leg against the wall. She also confirmed that wall sits and squats are helpful for building quad strength. I also did some leg raises in the all fours position raising one leg up and back (while anchoring the other leg and keeping it straight).

It was Edward William's bday so we had cake (made by John Morris) afterwards. A big group then ate dinner next door at Garcia's.
