Ridgeline - Baldy + Dillard washing machine tempo x2

July 25, 2016 (Afternoon)

Exercise Type: Run

Weather: mid 80s, hot

Comments:
Worked in the AM, then went home around noon to run. CA's out of town, so I ran solo for a workout. I wanted to run a fair amount of grind effort, and I wanted to replicate the workout I did about 5 weeks, pre-Bandera (mid-December).

From the house, ran EASY to the base of Baldy. It was already hot and a little humid, too!

Ran "easy" up Baldy, trying to keep the HR in check, then ran down easy and on the road, over to the east TH of the Dillard Loop - which is about 1.5 miles between the upper and lower sections. One loop washing machine loop (upper west, lower easy - tag the marker - lower west, upper east) is just over 3mi, and about 450' climbing!

Felt good and efficient, but this is a tough loop! Constant either uphill or forcing a pace on the downs, so...good work to do!

Felt pretty strong, and had to hold back to keep the HR in check.

Splits (HR)

Baldy: 10:00 (163)
1: 22:57 (160)
2: 22:56 (161)

5 minutes rest in between.

SOLID splits. Compare this to 12-12-15, which was run in about 50F temps:

22:23 (159 - was fresh)
22:57 (164)
23:16 (164)

So in December, I was running slower, but pushing harder...in way cooler temps.

Jogged easy home, down Fox Hollow. Good day!
