First Workout

Somehow I haven't gotten to do a workout yet this season between being sick, or out of town, or shins hurting, so today was my first one. We went to AU to do 400s, which is what I was hoping we weren't doing, but it actually turned out really well. My day wasn't great, as most of them haven't been lately, but just being at AU with the team made it a lot better. When I'm unmotivated/injured I don't always realize how much I miss everyone. I was in a nice group of fawns (Sarah K., Bridget, Thea, Sophie L., Gigi, and Revati) and they were a good pace for me which is unusual in speed workouts because I'm pretty bad at sprinting, so it was really nice not to be super far behind and to have people to push me. I did 4 pickups. The first I felt really good on, but I couldn't tell the pace at all and it was WAY too fast (like 1:14 I think), and then the other 3 were more like 1:45. I felt good breathing wise for the most part, but my shins did start to hurt. I'm really glad I got to do this workout though, because I think one of my favorite things about running with the team is our times at AU when we're all warming up together or pushing ourselves in different groups and cheering for each other or high fiving when we pass each other. I don't know, it's just really special and it made my day. Ran back really slow with Revati because she was tired, but it was nice to catch up with her. Had to leave as soon as I got back to GDS, so I will try to do strength as a homework break if I have time. Sorry for the long rambly log:)
