Exercise Type: Run
Weather: pretty nice - maybe 70?
Comments:
Kind of a crazy day: had breakfast in Yachats at Drift Inn...but were definitely cutting it close, as I had a noon appointment with a new client from Salem (yes, on Labor Day).
Then, when coffee at Green Salmon *took forever*, we were in some trouble. Hauled ASS back to Eugene, but was still 5 minutes late. Ugh. SUCKS.
However, the session was pretty good, and after that, CA came back to the office, and we ran to ATA for my last sharpening workout, pre-Superior.
Ran easy up and over the hill, and ran into Dan and "his family" (moving in with Theresa! #westside), en route.
CA kept running while I rolled into stride and the grind mile. I decided against my HRM strap (in fact...I might've left it there! Haven't seen it since!)
Admittedly the grind was likely *too grindy*, but it felt REALLY good. And the split was good, too: 5:33!
From there, I rested a bit, then did 2x800. CA came back and gave me a bit of coaching ("forward", "quick feet"). 800s felt very easy: 2:30.5, 2:29.1
Then, a couple 200s. Those were solid, but - after watching CA's video footage - could be better, form-wise: 30.6, 31.0
The video showed I need: more hip drive (like TWO inches more, probably, for that speed) and knee OUT on the right (it was bucking in on the corners).
Nonetheless, it was a FANTASTIC workout that shows I'm ready for Superior. I haven't seen the south side of 2:30 for an 800m in over three years! Good sign!
