Gainesville Run - easy(+) with CA, then with Ted

November 22, 2016 (Morning)

Exercise Type: Run

Weather: cool 50s to nearly 70 and nice

Comments:
Up early to drive to Gainesville for a combination Lexi hangout and Ted (coaching client) meeting. Ted drove up to meet us from Tampa.

We got there about an hour early to run. Parking near the track, we ran about 1.5 miles from a cool little river-swamp bottom trail network. I ran easy with CA on the outbound, but I was feeling really good, so I ran solo back. No HRM again - and I'm sure I was grinding - but I did a fair amount of effortless sub-7 running!

Met up with Ted and ran another 2 miles to the UF track. We then went to work: did some filming (trunk L, pelvis R!), made some adjustments, then ran 4x200. He'd yet to do these on a real track (as they're much harder to access in Florida, than in the west). He ran OK, but blew the wad early and struggled in his last two. I, too, ran 200s. Felt hard, but good:

31.5
31.1
30-31? (missed the watch split)

Did about a mile of barefoot running, amidst a handful of UF athletes working out, too.

Rest of the day:
- all of us, including Lexi and her BF, Bud, went to "Flying Biscuit" for breakfast. OUTSTANDING stuff. Biscuits and pumpkin pancakes were incredible
- Ted and I did some additional meeting-planning at another coffee shop before parting ways. REALLY good to spend time with him. It's hard to read and get to know someone remotely; he's a pretty brilliant and street-wise guy!
- hung out with Lexi and Bud the rest of the day:
--- random grocery store
--- walked around downtown Gainesville
--- Swamphead Brewing (foosball - I beat CA!)
--- dinner at "The Top"

Then drove home. Good day!
