super-slick Constitutional Hunt

January 10, 2017 (Night)

Exercise Type: Run

Weather: mid 40s, but not terrible

Comments:
Hunts these days are a little bare. In general, there seems to be four stalwarts right now:

- me
- Lewis
- Evan
- Tommy

That was our four, on a clockwise constitutional route. Since I'd run Baldy in the AM, I didn't think the snow would be too bad, so I wore a "normal" pair of shoes: my 1400s. Uh, BAD choice. It was SUPER-slick, snowy and icy on most of the wooded ridgeline.

Pretty easy, doable pace up Agate and Spring, then SLOW going climbing the ice and snow on the NE side of Baldy.

Lewis was in rare form, railing on KacR! I guess he listened-watched to a Ginger Runner recording of her. Glad he's as "creeped out" about her as I am...and for him, without any of the first-hand experience! Ugh, she's so "beloved", and no one can see through the garbage! It was interesting to hear his perspectives.

Once up and over Baldy, the main Ridgeline was...OK, but not great. Descending Headwater? BRUTAL. Both Tommy and I had shitty shoes, so it was this slow walk-shuffle for most of it, but once we got on the flat, it was OK. Picked it up a bit over the last mile.

CA came to the social and brought dinner. She's REALLY struggling with not running and her injury, but she IS getting better, and, well, she's hanging in there...
