easy run with CA! #birthdayrun

January 25, 2017 (Afternoon)

Exercise Type: Run

Weather: 40, dry

Comments:
Treated two patients, then snuck in a quick run with CA before the third.

She's doing WAY better. She's basically been "OFF" for over six weeks, trying to heal this "hamstring" (read: combination pelvis, muscle, nerve) pain in her left hip-pelvis. A combo of things have been key, recently:

- TWO great massage therapists working on her (my friend Kevin, who does gentle visceral and spinal work) and his mentor, Walter, who does DEEP tissue (and really got into her pain this week)
- ME doing a shit-load of both joint (pelvis, hip, spine) and - more recently - NERVE mobiilty stuff (as there's been a connection between neck-headache pain and her "butt"!)

Today: FOUR mile run with no pain whatsoever! Really great for her.

We ran an easy bark mile, then over to SEHS to barefoot run.

I felt...a little rough. Not sure if it's the PILLZ or the "sea monkeys", but I had gut rot and (with it, as usual) general malaise-fatigue. Stride felt good, and - when we filmed each other - LOOKED good. My hip extension is *on point* right now!

Ran a couple miles, did a few strides, then ran back to the office.

Rest of the day:
- noon patient
- home for "birthday brunch" (gut rot, so it was less enjoyable)
- rested a bit
- to the grocery store to get her cake
- back to work (swamped with Stride analyses!)
- client at 4:15
- home for CA's birthday

Tons of presents for her this year:
1. Got "her" (us) an emergency bivvy that Gary Robbins recommended for wilderness trail runs
2. New PI N1 shoes for her
3. Got "her" (us) tickets to see U2 and Mumford in SEA in May!

Lastly, we went to dinner at a new, nice place in W.Eugene, which one of my PT clients owns. SUPER good and worth every penny (of not-to-expensive prices)...then back home for cake & ice cream!

Happy birthday, CA!
