Kidz Morningstar hill repeats

First real run with the kids!

We first went through our dynamic (Ritz-Oregon Project) warm-up, then ran easy down Enterprise road - THE road to run on, by the high school - into the country. About a 1ish miles later, we hit the bottom of Morningstar hill: a good 300m or 0.2mi, but more vert than Skinner for sure.

We talked about running form cue #1: "Tall & Forward", then played with the straight leg pull drill, then got after it.

Since the girls were GRINDING up the first easy hill preview, I had them run 5 while Jonathan and the boys ran six. One of the girls, Nicole, was having "asthma" (I'm pretty sure she just doens't breathe), so I hung back with her while the girls hammered up, then jogged down.

They were hurting...but they did well. The boys looked SUPER-smooth - the top three of Hunter (2x State in 1500m and 3K as a frosh and soph), Callan and John. Good group. The ladies were solid, but struggled more and looked more inefficient. Yet it was still a good outing!

Jogged easy back to school. Great "first" day!
