David's workout

Right after practice, I drove back to EUG to meet David for a coaching session. I'd noticed his workout times were a little lackluster (given his ability), so I thought both some form cues AND simply being there would elevate his performance.

Met at my office. I did about 10min of strength on my own before he got there. No weights today.

Ran from the office, past our house, over College Hill to where he does his hill repeats. We talked about "Tall & Forward" and hip loading, then did x4 hill reps in about 72-74 (about 2-4s faster than his usual). Saw Dan-o walking past, near the end.

Then we jogged easy to ATA track. Worked on strides (more hip drive!), then did 4x200. Again he's usually 42-46, and we rolled each one in 39-42, which was solid.

I wish those 200s had felt super-easy, but...they didn't! Annoying!

After that, we jogged super-easy back to his house (N end of College Hill), then I jogged back to the office.

Man...my calves and hammies have been SUPER-tight! The slow running made 'em feel worse.

Home: ate tacos, then went to Hunt Social. Good to know Lewis was also feeling that long run, still!
