Exercise Type: Run
Comments:
The whole team went down to OWU today for the All Ohio championchips. It was really fun to see some people I haven't seen in awhile especially Bryce and Nate and watching Katie get second overall for the girls. I'm very happy with my effort today. I was second for us in the open and felt I ran very well. I went out a little conservativly and just tried to conserve energy for the hills. I did what coach said and tried to imagine climbing up stairs with each step up the hills. This really helped a lot. On the downs I just tried to streach it out and make up ground without getting boggen down in all the mud. It's rained all week so the course was really wet and muddy by the time we got on it. Footing was shoddy especiallly on the turns but keeping to the outside helped somewhat. I would have liked to get all my miles down under 6 and that'll be something to work on at Oberlin in two weeks. This is the first time this year I felt I didn't realy die at any of the miles. I just kept trucking and was able to move up as the race went on. I'm definitly happy that I seem to be picking up how to run the distance. The extra untimed mile there is when me and Grese were running around cheering on the varsity boys without my watch running. That was really fun cheering for them too. All in all a good day for me. Thanks to Grogan for giving me some good intel into the course. It definitly helped shaped how I ran it especially going conservative the first mile and moving up from there I'm happy with my effort. But I can definitly work on some things for Oberlin.
