March 31, 2017 (Morning)
Exercise Type: Run
Weather: fake-warm: sunny but a bit chilly (high 50s)
Comments:
Worked at home all day, getting some Running Analysis marketing done, among other things.
Made plans to meet Thornton for a run, so I got to his house about 45min early to run beforehand, to pre-add-on.
Felt rough. Legs and energy weren't great, but the gut was way off. It was a combo of foods, but also taking too many allergy meds, including one a couple hours, preceding.
Also had a fair amount of left foot soreness. What's been going on:
- under-using (moving) the feet again, whoops. This is why they've been stiff in the AM
- some accumulated mid- and forefoot stiffness (stride over-reach, etc)
So when I got back to his house to meet him, I stopped to stretch and midfoot stomp. It was better after that, but then some different levels of soreness.
Had a decent, if not a bit grindy, run up into Dorris, with a short orchard loop inside. Talked about P.Hill track (and some Ricky-CGHS stuff) nearly the whole time. Matt's great for this: even if he's not super-invested, he's always really interested.
Post-run: hung out at his place, drinking some Russian River beers he brought home (Blind Pig, Pliny). Then home.
Had a relaxing evening, which was nice. Gut felt better.
