First game of the playoffs. Wasnt expecting much, just looking forward to wings after the game. Feeling good at game time though. I had a stomach cramp in the afternoon that slowed me down a little so the game was a welcome event. Warmed up well, we had a full crew there ready to go. I was happy to lead off with a base hit and make it around to score. Then in the outfield, Skinner hit a long bomb that I ran after, missed it by a few feet, but I couldnt slow down and get it. The only was to stop was to literally dive head first into the bushes. It was way more prickly than I expected. I went in deep and kinda just sat there while everyone else played the play. I kinda disappeared. It was tough to get out any movement was a scratch. I finally made it out but I was all scratched up and covered in thorns. The effort payed off, since we had a bunch more clutch defensive plays, and a few innings where we loaded the bases and knocking in several runs. It just kept going well all the way to the end of the game, when we were still up in the seventh. We all got so nervous, since we have never been in a situation like this before, up against a good team. That last half inning was nerve wracking, same feeling you get at a track meet. Reminded me of that, and how I dont really get to experience that much anymore... Anyways, Skinner was back up, hit 4 deep deep fouls to right, then switched fields and hit it right to Arnab in left field. We couldnt believe it, but we upset the Chickens in the playoffs. We went pretty nuts, not even really knowing how to celebrate. I was in shock I couldnt comprehend what we just did. Eitherway, everyone was pretty stoked. We finished off the night at Hangar with 300 wings, and made work of it. I was stuffed by the end (got to 21) and was so full and finished. Still cant believe that we won and have another game! I honestly wasnt prepared at all, but now I am ready to go.
