TRAN's Trapezoids with CA

August 1, 2017 (Morning)

Exercise Type: Run

Weather: 70, not bad...

Comments:
Up early to run with CA, before her work trip and my 815 client.

Drove to my office, then ran to the base of Skinner Butte, by our old apt, to run the TRAN's Trapezoids hills:

- ~300m uphill
- immediate quick (100m) downhill
- flat 50m
- sprint 50m
- jog 200m

Haven't done 'em in a while, and figured it'd be a fine thing to do to "keep resting", but do some work.

Incidentally: I've decided this will be a major Rest Week, while I catch up on sleep.

Slept decent last night...

Legs felt OK but heavy, and it reflected in the Trapezoids. The last time I did them, maybe early June?, these were ALL under 70. Today:

NOTE: once again, I've "forgotten" to push-off with my feet...ANNOYING. I can tell this when my feet and ankles get really stiff (in the AM). So I was really pumped this morning when I wasn't very stiff at all from the 2.5 miles of turf and track barefoot.

Worked on foot push, then:

- forward
- arched
- tall
- high knees

Felt strong enough, and not super-fatiguing, but just didn't have the speed.

Jogged back to the office for my 8:15. Saw a patient, then hustled to the gym for a weight session, then to the Greyhound station to pick up my friend Jimmy, who flew into PDX for "work" (Delta pilot) last night.

Rest of the day:

- coffee and breakfast at Allan Bros
- golfed 9 holes, really fun!
- home for some work and food
- two more patients
- met up with CA for beers (and nachos) at T&G
- Jimmy took the bus back at 7:30

Good day! Days like these make me super-grateful to be my own boss!
